CONVENIENCE
At KMI we have developed an educational and marketing strategy which focuses on providing MAXIMUM EDUCATION with GREATEST CONVENIENCE to the parents. This is why we have a multiple studio FACILITY and have hired multiple FACULTY. Our approach not only makes music education much more convenient and affordable to the family, it also ensures quality by establishing educational standards for all our students. Parents who bring their students to KMI are assured of a high quality of education in all aspects: lesson, theory, technique and performance. In this way, KMI has the same kind of credentials as a universtiy, without the high cost that results from the OVERHEAD.
Adding an Instrument: Often we enroll new students who come to use to study a second instrument, and they already have a teacher for the first instrument. Sometimes the student and parents keep the separate teachers, and sometimes they switch the student to KMI for both instruments for the sake of convenience and/or quality of instruction.
Relocating a Sibling: The older brother is already taking piano lessons, but the younger sister wants violin lessons. Keeping both teachers can be difficult on the weekly schedule and the wallet - so transferring the older brother when the sister starts violin can be a great convenience for the family.
Earlier as Opposed to Later: You have two children already enrolled in lessons with two other teachers, and your third one wants cello lessons - which means a third teacher. You are hoping the first two will start as 2nd instrument also - does that mean 5 teachers? Transferring your whole family to KMI while they are still early beginners can be a much easier transition than waiting until later when such a change will be more difficult.
Your Decision: Throughout these web pages we have tried to advise you carefully to make a decision to change teachers based on what is absolutely best for your child(ren). When it comes to combining their lessons for the sake of convenience and cost, we clearly have a strong advantage, but we also believe that this convenience is also academically sound. Our curriculum standards and quality of teaching will ensure the whole family receives the highest quality education available in the region - so we believe that choosing to change to KMI for the sake of convenience is also a quality improvement for the students. However, this decision is yours alone to make. We will always respect it and not push a "hard-sell" to convince you to switch teachers when you are satisfied with the them. We provide this information solely as possible options as you consider coming to KMI and you plan for the future.
